All-on-4 dental implants in Turkey are often researched by people who have lost all teeth in one jaw, have failing teeth or struggle with loose dentures. The concept uses four implants to support a full-arch restoration. It can be an effective option for selected patients, but the name of the technique is not a substitute for diagnosis.
At Dentadent in Istanbul, All-on-4 planning considers the jawbone, gum condition, bite, smile, remaining teeth and the design of the future bridge. The final decision is made after clinical and radiological assessment.
Four implants are positioned in an edentulous or soon-to-be edentulous jaw to support a complete arch of replacement teeth. The posterior implants may be angled when appropriate to use available bone and support the restoration. The exact positions are planned around anatomy and the intended prosthesis.
All-on-4 does not mean four implants for the entire mouth. If both the upper and lower arches are treated with this concept, each arch is assessed and planned separately.
Suitability can be affected by uncontrolled gum disease, insufficient bone in critical areas, certain medical conditions, smoking, heavy grinding or an unfavourable bite. These factors do not always rule out treatment, but they may change the plan and risk discussion.
Some All-on-4 patients may receive a fixed provisional bridge on the day of surgery or shortly afterwards. This is immediate loading. It requires adequate implant stability and a carefully controlled temporary bite. The provisional bridge is used during healing and is different from the definitive restoration.
If the implants do not meet the clinical criteria for immediate loading, the team may recommend a removable temporary restoration or a delayed loading protocol. This decision protects healing and should not be treated as a failure of the plan.
All-on-6 uses six implants in an arch, while All-on-4 uses four. Six implants may provide additional support or distribution in some cases, but more implants are not automatically better. Available bone, anatomical structures, restorative space and the planned bridge determine which design is appropriate. In some patients, a different number of implants or an overdenture may be preferable.
A fixed bridge still requires daily cleaning underneath and around the implant connections. Your team may recommend specialist brushes, flossing aids or an oral irrigator as an adjunct. Professional reviews monitor the gums, bone, bite, screws and prosthetic materials. Ignoring bleeding, swelling, looseness or a changed bite can allow a manageable problem to become more complex.
Dentadent’s Bakırköy centre brings implant surgery, radiology, periodontology and prosthetic dentistry together. The facility includes an operating room and options for sedation or general anaesthesia for clinically suitable patients following medical assessment. International patient coordination helps organise preliminary review, appointments and the expected visit sequence.
Send a recent X-ray and clear photographs to discuss whether a fixed full-arch pathway may be relevant. The final implant number, loading decision and restoration are confirmed only after examination. Read Dentadent’s All-on-4 treatment guide or request an appointment in Istanbul.
